Our Story ā From One Manās Vision to a Leading Local Agency
James Allen had been working in estate agency since the 1990s before deciding to start his own business. In 2005 he launched AllenāÆResidential in the village of Paulton. Located about 12 miles south of Bristol and 9 miles from Bath, Paulton sits at the heart of the West of England property market
The business was founded on simple principles: be an independent agent who puts people first and offer knowledgeable guidance that is competitively priced.
Our office on High Street, Paulton has been home ever since. The founding team, many of whom still work with us today, shared a passion for property and a desire to build a better kind of agency.

Growth, Innovation and a Few Milestones
Over the past 20 years we have broadened our reach whilst remaining an independent business. In 2023 we acquired Michael Gould Property in Midsomer Nortonāone of the oldest estate agencies in the area and then shortly after Yellow Property who were a specialist letting agency.
More recently followed the acquisition of Stuarts Residential (Wells) and Busybee Lettings (Street). This expansion allowed us to open up additional branches in Wells and Street and a tenancy administration hub also in the city of Wells.
This then allows us to bring our combination of rural and village property expertise to new communities.

Having a specialist tenancy administration hub (based in Wells), this then allows us to focus on separating the front end activity of finding a tenant and letting a property and the super important aspects of tenancy administration and making sure that our landlord clients are legally compliant.
