Bristol house prices have skyrocketed, as a new survey has revealed just how much the cost of an average home has increased in the past 10 years.
A study from ElectricalDirect has reported that the cost of a home in the UK has increased from £18,377 in 1980 to £247,898 in 2020. Bristol has seen one of the largest price increases in the UK.
Bristol was revealed as the city with the second most dramatic house price increase in the country, second after Southend-On-Sea.
Prices over the past ten years have jumped 68 per cent and the cost of an average home will set you back £282,596.
Bristol has experienced a two per cent decrease in house size and a 68 per cent increase in house prices.
In third place is London, where house prices have jumped 67 per cent over the past ten years and the cost of a home costs £773,937.
The most expensive place to buy in Bristol according to recent research – compiled by house price valuation specialists Mouseprice – is Berkeley Square, with properties selling for an average price of £1.56m.
